Actually... scrap that last comment... just re-generated some code (by "publishing" the movie rather than "exporting" it and then grabbing the HTML that Flash generates to insert itself in the page)... and it has sorted out the IE bug.
So for me, it now works GREAT!! CS5 tested!! Thanks again... great work!!

Hi there Gavin... first of all thank you so much for your efforts. This pre-loader thing is absolutely painful... and guys like you are great helping the rest of us out. I just tried it in CS5 ... seemed to work fine... uploaded it to my site, and it works great in FF, but i tested also on IE8 and IE9, and it doesn't seem to work - just an "empty frame" until the rest of the video loads up and runs. You can look at it at the URL i provided above.
Any ideas? Thanks mate.

OK, I just tried this in Flash Pro CS4 and it works. I take it people know that in "Test Movie" you need to hit ctrl-Enter twice in order to simulate download? Then it works. It only aborts if it detects that the whole timeline is already loaded.

If someone else finds that it works please do comment here.

It's been downloaded 650 times and there have only been a few comments here so I'm presuming it has worked for some, if not most, people! (You should be able to see it work in the movie above too).

As regards CS5, I'm not able to test for that at the moment, but it should be okay there too (let me know). If comments keep coming that it doesn't work, I will take a look when I can. Thank you.

You need to make this easier to implement. Everyone keeps getting aborting error.

How about posting an FLA with this implemented already?

Also getting an "aborting..." error. Completely stumped on preloaders as a whole, would love some help on getting this working. Tried using it both in a new document and my current project.

Hi Ben,

Sorry, I don't know. Make sure you are on a recent version of Flash and the movie is set to use AS3. At the moment I am on a different project and can't boot up Flash and start debugging this but if multiple comments start coming in I will check it out ASAP..

Hi Michael,

I'm not sure what could be causing this and unfortunately am too busy to look into it at the moment. Try re-installing the component and trying it in a different project!
