Training services
In 2001 I became an Adobe Certified Instructor and Adobe Certified Expert. I then spent several years working for leading London training providers teaching Flash and – especially – ActionScript to delegates from all over Europe. I have now trained literally hundreds of people, from a variety of backgrounds and countries, including staff from many leading digital media companies – e.g. AKQA, Rockstar Games, Euro RSCG KLP, Feref Digital and Dare.
These days I provide training directly to end clients, still focusing on Flash and ActionScript.
I offer two kinds of training:
Option 1: Group training
I have written a 22,000 word training course called Applied ActionScript 3.0 which is designed to migrate beginners, and users of ActionScript 2.0, to the ActionScript 3.0 language. I run this course on demand for classes of up to five delegates, roughly once per month. It is thoroughly researched and is often the most cost-effective way of bringing developers up to speed.

Option 2: Custom training
The second option for my clients is custom training. In this case I am often provided with a bullet point list of topics that the client needs covering, I will prepare in advance, visit the client and not leave until they have the answers they want! Sometimes there is some cross-over between development and training with the custom training – I always discuss this in detail with my client in advance.
My job as a trainer is to make complicated concepts seem simple.
